Divine Inspiration

A friend had posted this to their IG story. And being the they’re a very attractive human in both soul and flesh, I wanted to send a heart eyed smiley face, or at the very least a flame emoji. But even the sending of those particular window tapping pebbles had less to do with what I thought of their quote, and more to do with me wanting attention from them. Put a check mark in the restraint/containment for box for Hal, but beyond that, this quote irked the shit out of me. And that irking probably has more to do with the reader (me) than the actual quote itself. But..

Being the believer of what I believe coming from the feelings which I know to be the deepest truth, I call “bullshit” on this. And I imagine the writer to be seated on their throne, draped in opulent garments, being brought grapes by servants. Here they can pontificate about the abundant universe and all the wondrous gifts bestowed upon them by merely thinking of their external beauty. Which they consistently reinforce by a compulsive raising of their gold trimmed hand mirror, Or selfie snapping smart phone depending what era we’re talking about.

I will tell you this, that the universe doesn’t have a plan for you. The universe isn’t even waiting to see what you will do. The universe does however respond to creative action and momentum. It responds in kind to inertia which is how I read this quote. And we all know that, or at least I think we all know that nothing and everything happens from waiting. But the delivering of everything comes from the giving to the universe a plan. If the universe doesn’t receive a plan from you, then it will deliver the exact plan you are giving it, which is nothing. That is why although we must wait, yes we must practice patience, we also must start from somewhere. And that start will in likelihood come from creativity, which in my opinion needs a broader definition. Because we are all artists in some way shape or form, and let the word artist sink in. And when it has sunk you will surely become that which has imbedded itself in you. And being that our culture has robbed us of the importance of artistic creativity, one of our greatest inspirational tools has been taken from us and we must reclaim this gift to save ourselves. Do something creative. Pray. Meditate. Move your body. And by doing these things you will create the blueprint for the universe to deliver the thing that will be your salvation.
